SILENCE - © 2009

Last night I held another's fate in my hands
I squeezed it tight, afraid that it might slip from my grasp
And I know this chance won't return again...that I do know
And though I hesitate I feel
That I must do the right thing
Though it hurts to let you go

And I'll be free once the pain has withered in this silence
In everyone there's a place, a moment when we sigh
And it's plain to see there's no point anymore

Last night I opened up a hole in this world
The pieces of a broken heart echoed through the dark
But the voice inside is fed up with my grief, and it says so:
Don't let it all possess you
Stay, cuz it's all right
Stay, and I will hide you

And I'll be free once the pain has withered in this silence
In everyone there's a place, a moment when we sigh
And it's plain to see there's no point anymore

Another day, another way
My lips might brush your face
Memories of what might have been
Time cannot erase
But gentle reason rocks me softly
I realize it's time to rest my case

And I'll be free once the pain has withered in this silence
In everyone there's a place, a moment when we sigh
And it's plain to see there's no point anymore
